So you would like to know a little about me, well I am a graphic designer based in London. I moved here from Malta in 2007 to further my studies, and stayed on to pursue a career in design. After uni and an interesting internship with an ad agency upon the HMS President berthed in the Thames on the Victoria Embankment, I spend 7 years working for an ad tech agency called Localstars. I first joined the company as a junior designer and worked my way up to head of design, where I managed a small but very creative team. I went on to launch a company called Always The Hostess. It's a design agency specialising in party supplies, we focus on creating fun and unique designs using quality materials. I created this company for people who put their heart and soul into their parties and are looking for inventive and stylish party pieces.
I believe that as a designer I look at the world differently. From a very young age I was an incredibly visual person; I would always pick the chocolate bar with the best-designed wrapper. I haven't changed one bit, I choose what hay fever meds to take based on its packaging, which my pharmacist husband finds hilarious.
I can't stress enough how much I love being a designer, I am equally happy to design a logo as I am a website or print material. I feel very lucky that my hobby is also my job.
